Extreme 4 Wheelin'
Clayton September 11th, 2004

It's that time again!  Time for another run to 'Green Acres' in Clayton (I'm told that's what they are calling it now, instead of Rough Canyon).

The first trail you come to just seems like a required warm-up.   It's rated a 5, but with very little water in the creek today, it's not that bad.

We've got Hamid working his way thru.  I see the spare tire is still on the front...

Then there's Henry in the Cherokee...

And of course Norm & Jackie.  Take a guess who gets to drive...

Speaking of Norm.  What's that cloud of steam coming from?
Just for everyone's education, YES the wiring to the radiator fan IS important...

While they are getting Norm's temp down, Jayson will move us on down the trail.

Hey, don't look so excited there Jamie.  ;-)

Now it's time for Jackie to run thru the optional exit.
That is, if they can get by the tree...

Ok, first trail survived.  And now we are standing here looking at Jeff's Ledges.
Our fearless leader,Tim, is gonna be the first to give it a try!

Oops, let's not scratch the paint now....

Ok Tim, we're gonna have to have a little talk about your mascot.

Once you make it up the ledges, there is still a pretty good bolder pile to work thru.

Tim is out, so it looks like Jayson is next...

Now it's my turn.  Thanks to Norm we even have shots of me wheelin' this time...

What's this, Jackie actually letting dad drive...

Jackie, just because you are in Dad's seat, does not mean you can use dad's language. :-p

Yes, another successful climb!  And no one broke anything...

Oops, I knew I should not have said that...
So Norm, are you going to explain to us how you break a transmission mount on flat ground...

We've managed to make our way to the top of the mountain.  No it's time to make our way back down.  You have your choice of the easy way or this one!   Sorry Hamid, you may have to leave a little bit of that new paint behind.

Strong rocker guards are a must here...

Have you every heard the question "if a tree falls in the forest, and no one is around to hear it, does it make as sound"?

Well, one thing I do know for sure is,,, if Henry pushes a dead tree over onto Jayson's cage, it makes ONE HELL of a sound!  I can't imagine what it was like inside... :-o

So, everyone made it back to their trailers on their own, and that always makes for a good day!

Thanks to everyone that made it out!  And see ya next time....

Oh, for Jayson and Jamie:  WE'LL SEE YA NEXT TIME...
(just in case their ears are still ringing from the crash...)
