Freeling's, Nov 28 2003

Post turkey day wheelin'. What could be much better than that. The weather was decent, a little cool, but just what you'd expect for November. The rocks were dry, a good time to go tackle the hard core features of Freeling's park.
Just after going thru the
gate, Steve spotted something new off to the left. We don't know what the name of it
is, but it was a great little climb to get warmed up on.

From there we circled up
over the mountain and around to the beginning of TSOB. This trail gave us all fits a
few months ago when we ran it in the rain. This time it was nothing but pure fun!
A great technical trail.

A short distance from the
ending of TSOB is a new trail called Pucker Sluice. The sign just 'extreme' for the
rating.

Jayson walked thru with very
little difficulty, as usual.

Ken's steering valve is
still giving him fits. Making for a difficult time getting in position.

It was a cool spot,
and one that seemed determined to test the right side of my cage. One of these
days I'm gonna have to repaint those bars.

After cruising thru the
first challenges of the day, we were feeling bold and decided to take on Freeling
Staircase!

Not a lot to say really.
We all made it thru with reasonable ease. It's not the trail it was when it
was first opened, but still one that demands your respect!

Can you believe we ran all
that stuff and it was still only about 3:30pm, thanks to good weather, and NO breakage's!
We decided to call it a day and make our way to Pete's Place for some Italian (LOTS
of Italian)! After sitting down with full stomachs, we all agreed it was a
GOOD decision....
