Night Run at Disney, Aug 9 2003

August it's always HOT in Oklahoma. To beat the heat, we gathered up for a night run.

We started out on the
trails. On the first big decent, a hidden stump takes out a tie rod. Snapped
the end right off. After some creative vehicle shuffling, Steve gets the Ready
Welder within range. How did we ever wheel without it... :-)

We made it out of the trails
earlier than usual, in time for some playing on the rocks. Here Jayson works on the
wall at the top of Staircase. Hey Tim, how's the ride?

Here's Ken's beast but wait,
that's not him driving... Looks like Steve is testing out the Chief.

Group shot time. I had
this great idea to get a pic of all the trucks lined up under the moonlight. Well,
that did not work so well (camera remote was dead). So I cranked the flash up and
took what I could get. We had a really good turnout at over a dozen trucks.

After playing around the
Staircase for a while, we moved on down the river onto the fresh rock garden.

Then Jayson decided it was
time to recycle the bolts on his drive shaft. It could have been worst. He
could have been half way down Pinball when it came loose.

Once everyone made it thru the rocks we headed on up to Waterfall. Well, except for John. He snapped a birfield in the Toyota. Surprising part is, he said it was his first to break. That's not doing too bad for as long as he's been wheelin' it.
Up on the Waterfall, Ken
pushed a little too hard on the left rear and rolled the tire off the bead.

Here Steve comes back down
to give Ken a lift.

Steve's air is on the fritz, so we waited for Jayson to make it back over for some air.....
So, how many truck does it
take to fix a flat tire... :-)

We finally wrapped up about 1:00 am. Not bad, but by the time you make it home, it sure makes for a short night's sleep. Oh well, it was a good day/night of wheelin'!
Thanks to all that came out....
