Extreme4Wheelin', Salina - Jan 18, 2003

January in Oklahoma. Sounds like a good time to go wheelin' to me. Looks like others agreed, because we had a good turnout. About 15 truck came out to brave the cool and try out some Salina area wheelin'.
I had a pinewood derby race to attend in the morning, so I was a little late arriving. Thanks to Steve, Henry, and Jayson for taking pics and filling me in on what I missed.
Right off bat, John punched a tire on a stump. Early carnage...
Some early hill climbs and washes.
Lots of winch cable got pulled on this hill. Jayson came up first and made it look easy, however those that followed discovered how loose rock, and lots of trees can take their toll.
Steve worked it real hard, but he was finally able to make it to the top without the cable.
Tim tried a different line. But, not much room to maneuver between those trees. A clogged fuel filter ended his run up the hill real early.
As we move on, here's a nice wash-out to cross. There is a bypass, but then what fun would that be.
The trail turned out to be a bit too narrow, so we reversed course and headed back out. A chance to try out that wash from the other direction...
Hey Jayson, what's that tag say?
One more big hill climb. Get back and stand on it is the name of the game here!
Oh, can't forget to mention
Jackie's new friend.
She discovered just how much fun that skinny pedal on the right can be!!! :-)
Thanks to all that came out!
