Extreme 4 Wheelin'
Salina Run, June 10th 2006

Welcome to Salina Oklahoma, more or less.
Despite the heat, we've got an awesome turn-out today.  I counted 16 trucks at line-up.  Actually 17 if you count Norm's, but since it never made it off the trailer I don't know if that counts... ;)

Ok, everyone is unloaded, so lets' hit the trails!

This area is mostly 4-wheeler trails, but a few have been made big enough for the trucks.

We kick off the day with a hill climb or two...

And this is pretty much how the trails get to be truck sized.
Here Steve & Deana whip up on this massive climb!

Now it's Denise's turn to hit a few lines with the Tracker.

And now Ken has brought out the big beast for a shot at the hill!

First time out for Jayson's new Jeep.
He's taking a look at the hill as Jack chills out in the back.

And now Earl and Kay try a couple spots.

Now Ronnie's turn in the Chevy.

Kelly works on a couple hills with the Suzuki.

Couple more shots at the big hill by Walt and Ken, then we move on.

Daniel's got the Blazer running again, after some tranny problems earlier in the year.

On down the trail, we come on to some rocky hill climbs.
Lots of loose rock and a few ledges make this spot a new challenge.

Here JC and Kelly give it a run.

Tim brought out a new YJ he's got.
Unfortunately the rear drive shaft comes apart on this hill and he has to get a pull from Ken.  Looks like it's front wheel drive only for the rest of the day.

Steve's found a passenger that's ready for a trip up the hill.

I guess riding around in that luxury Jeep just put Jack to sleep.

We took a short break for lunch then everyone is rolling on to see what other challenges we can find.

Oh, did I mention that this place can be muddy in places!
And Ken has certainly found one of those places!

And now Earl has fallen into a spot...

Ok, so who's next thru the pit...

Well, I was jockeying around to get a better shot of the action, when we found ourselves in the middle of one of those pits.  But  nothing a shift into high range and a lot of skinny peddle can't get us out of....

Oops, but Christina did not appreciate the mud bath so much.  Looks like I lost my passenger.

Yep Ken, you were kinda hard on passengers also..

Even Ken L is getting a shot thru the pit on the 4-wheeler.

Here, the big Chevy's are gonna show us how it's done...
I think these guys have done this before!

Walt's not having any problems in the Sami.

I can see we'll all be busy with some clean-up tomorrow...

We all made it out of the mud pit, so now we can see what else we can find...
Like maybe a mini ravine to play on.  This seemed like a good time for me to check my front drive shaft.

Of course these guys make it look easy, but then what fun is that.

Ok, to get out of here all we have to do is make it thru one more spot.
Unfortunately, Henry is kind of hung up at the moment.

I tried pulling him thru, but it's not going too well, so Ken backs up to lift him out.

Ok, now we know what the problem was...

Well, everyone did make it out ok.
Thanks to all that came out.  It was a bit warm, but we all managed to have a good time...

Remember, due to the holiday, next month's meeting has been moved to July 11th.
